How often do I need a check-up?

For most patients, we recommend a cleaning and exam every six months. If you have a history of gum disease or are at high risk for cavities, we may suggest visiting every 3 or 4 months to keep your oral health on track.

Why do my gums bleed when I brush?

Healthy gums do not bleed. Bleeding is usually the first sign of gingivitis (early gum disease), caused by plaque buildup irritating the gums. A professional cleaning and improved home care can usually reverse this condition quickly.

Are dental X-rays safe?

Yes. We use digital X-rays, which emit very low levels of radiation, significantly less than traditional film X-rays and less than you are exposed to during a typical flight. We only take them when necessary for diagnosis.

What if I have sensitive teeth?

Please tell us! We can use a numbing gel before your cleaning and avoid using cold water or air on sensitive areas. We can also recommend desensitizing toothpaste or fluoride treatments to help reduce your sensitivity over time.

Do you accept insurance for cleanings?

Yes. Most dental insurance plans cover two preventive visits (cleaning, exam, and X-rays) per year at 100%. This means you likely will have no out-of-pocket cost for your routine care. Our team will verify your specific benefits.
