Dental Bridges in Palm Beach Gardens

Traditional Dental Bridges: Restore Your Complete Smile

A gap in your smile can be distracting, but the impact goes deeper than aesthetics. Even a single missing tooth can cause your remaining teeth to shift out of position, alter your bite, and lead to jaw pain or difficulty chewing.

At Gardens Implant & Cosmetic Dentistry, we offer time-tested restorative solutions to bridge the gap and restore your confidence.

A Traditional Dental Bridge is a fixed, non-removable appliance that replaces one or more missing teeth. It works by using the healthy teeth on either side of the gap as anchors (abutments) to support a custom-made replacement tooth (pontic) in the middle. The result is a seamless, stable restoration that lets you eat, speak, and smile naturally again.

Why Choose Gardens for Your Dental Bridge?

While dental implants are often the gold standard, a traditional bridge is an excellent solution for many patients, especially those who prefer a non-surgical option. Here is why Palm Beach Gardens residents trust Dr. Hans Almanzar for their restorative care:

  • Master Restorative Dentist: Dr. Hans Almanzar combines technical precision with an artist's touch. He ensures that your bridge isn't just functional, but indistinguishable from your natural teeth.

  • High-Performance Materials: We say "no" to the dark metal lines of the past. We utilize advanced high-strength porcelain and zirconia materials that mimic the translucency of natural enamel while providing incredible durability.

  • Digital Precision: We use state-of-the-art digital scanners to take impressions of your teeth. This means no messy goop and a restoration that fits perfectly down to the micron.

  • Conservative & Efficient: For patients who cannot undergo surgery or want a faster solution than implants, Dr. Almanzar can often complete a bridge in just two visits.

PROCEDURE

The Dental Bridge Process

Getting a dental bridge is a straightforward and comfortable process typically completed in two appointments.

  1. The Consultation: Dr. Almanzar will examine the health of your surrounding teeth and gums to ensure they are strong enough to support a bridge. We will discuss your goals and choose the perfect shade to match your smile.

  2. Preparation: To create a secure fit, the two anchor teeth (adjacent to the gap) are gently reshaped. We then take a digital scan of the area.

  3. The Temporary Bridge: You won't leave our office with a gap. We fabricate a temporary bridge for you to wear while your custom restoration is being crafted in our partner lab.

  4. Final Placement: About two weeks later, you return for your final appointment. Dr. Almanzar removes the temporary and permanently bonds your new custom bridge in place, checking your bite to ensure total comfort.

TESTIMONIAL

Patient Success Story: The Faster Solution

Actual Patient Scenario

The Challenge: "Maria," a 60-year-old retired nurse, lost a premolar due to a fracture. She was self-conscious about the gap when she laughed. She consulted with us about an implant, but was hesitant about the surgery and the 3-4 month healing time before she would get a tooth. She wanted a solution now.

The Solution: Dr. Almanzar discussed a traditional bridge. Since Maria's adjacent teeth already had large fillings that needed replacing, crowning them to support a bridge was a logical, two-in-one solution.

The Result: In just two weeks, Maria had her final bridge placed. She loved that she didn't have to undergo surgery and was thrilled to have her smile back so quickly. She told us, "It feels just like my other teeth, and I didn't have to wait months for it!"

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Dental Bridge vs. Dental Implant: Which is better?

Both are excellent. An implant is often preferred because it doesn't require altering the neighboring teeth. However, a bridge is often a better choice if the neighboring teeth already need crowns, or if you want a faster, non-surgical solution.

How long does a bridge last?

With good oral hygiene and regular check-ups, a high-quality dental bridge can last 10 to 15 years or longer.

Is it hard to eat with a bridge?

Not at all. In fact, replacing a missing tooth usually makes eating easier. Once you are adjusted to the bridge, you can eat a normal, healthy diet. We recommend avoiding ice or extremely sticky candies to protect the porcelain.

How do I clean under a bridge?

Because the teeth are connected, you cannot floss between them in the usual way. We will show you how to use a "floss threader" or a water flosser to easily keep the area under the replacement tooth clean and healthy.

Is the procedure painful?

No. We use local anesthesia to ensure you are completely numb during the preparation appointment. You should feel no pain.
