Implant-Supported Dentures: Security, Stability, and Confidence

For decades, traditional dentures were the only option for replacing a full set of teeth. While they restore appearance, many patients struggle with dentures that slip, click, or cause sore spots. The fear of your teeth coming loose while eating or laughing can be paralyzing.

At Gardens Implant & Cosmetic Dentistry, we offer a modern, life-changing alternative: Implant-Supported Dentures (often called "Snap-On Dentures").

This advanced solution combines the affordability of dentures with the rock-solid stability of dental implants. By placing just a few titanium implants in your jaw, we create a secure foundation that your denture "snaps" onto. The result? A smile that stays put, allowing you to eat the foods you love and speak with total confidence, no messy glue required.

EXPERTISE

Why Choose Gardens for Your Smile Upgrade?

Achieving a secure, comfortable fit requires a team that understands both surgery and prosthetics. Here is why patients in Palm Beach Gardens trust us to stabilize their smiles:

  • Dual-Specialty Care: You benefit from the combined expertise of Dr. Hans Almanzar (Implantologist) and Dr. Jesse Lemoine (Periodontist). They work together to ensure your implants are placed in the optimal position for maximum retention and bone health.

  • Bone Preservation: Traditional dentures press on the gums, accelerating bone loss and facial aging. Our implant-supported solution stimulates the jawbone, helping to preserve your facial structure and keep you looking younger.

  • Custom Craftsmanship: We don't do "false teeth." We design your denture to complement your facial features, customizing the tooth shape, shade, and gum contour for a natural, vibrant look.

PROCEDURE

The Path to a Secure Smile

Transitioning to implant-supported dentures is a streamlined, predictable process.

  1. 3D Planning: We use advanced CBCT 3D scans to map your jawbone and identify the strongest anchor points for your implants.

  2. Implant Placement: Dr. Almanzar or Dr. Lemoine surgically places 2 to 4 titanium implants into the jawbone. This is a comfortable, minimally invasive procedure often performed under sedation.

  3. Healing: We allow the implants to fuse with the bone (osseointegration) for a few months. During this time, you can usually wear your current denture (modified with a soft liner) so you are never without teeth.

  4. Attachment: Once healed, we attach specialized "locator" abutments to the implants and corresponding "snaps" inside your new (or modified) denture.

  5. The "Snap": We fit your denture, and you hear that satisfying click. Your teeth are now locked in place, secure and stable.

TESTIMONIAL

Patient Success Story: The Apple Test

Actual Patient Scenario

The Challenge: "Mary," a 70-year-old retiree, had worn a lower denture for five years. It floated around her mouth constantly. She relied on messy adhesives just to get through a meal and avoided crunchy foods like apples and nuts entirely. She felt her quality of life was shrinking.

The Solution: Dr. Almanzar recommended stabilizing her lower denture with two dental implants. It was a cost-effective solution that didn't require a brand-new set of teeth immediately.

The Result: The day we attached her denture to the implants, Mary tried to push it out with her tongue, but it wouldn't budge. She went home and ate a crisp apple for the first time in years. She told us, "I forgot what it felt like to chew without worry. It’s the best investment I’ve ever made."

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from All-on-4®?

All-on-4® is a fixed bridge that is screwed in and does not come out (only the dentist can remove it). An Implant-Supported Denture is removable; you snap it out yourself at night to clean it, but it stays firmly locked in place during the day.

Can I use my existing denture?

In many cases, yes! If your current denture is in good condition and fits well, we can often retrofit it with the necessary snaps to fit your new implants. This can make the process more affordable.

How many implants do I need?

For the lower jaw, 2 implants are often enough to provide excellent stability. For the upper jaw, we typically recommend 4 implants to ensure the denture is secure without needing to cover the roof of your mouth (palate).

Does it hurt?

Most patients report very little discomfort. Placing implants is a gentle procedure, often less painful than a tooth extraction. We use local anesthesia and offer sedation to ensure you are comfortable. Most patients are back to normal activities the next day.

Do I still need glue?

No! That is the best part. The mechanical "snap" connection provides all the retention you need. You can throw away your denture adhesive forever.
