General Post-Treatment Tips

• Rest: Take it easy for the rest of the day following your procedure.

• Pain Management: Use prescribed or over-the-counter pain medication as directed.

• Oral Hygiene: Brush gently and avoid the treated area for the first 24 hours unless otherwise advised.

• Diet: Stick to soft foods and avoid hot, spicy, or crunchy foods for the first 1–2 days.

• Hydration: Drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol or carbonated beverages.

Specific Instructions by Treatment Type

After Fillings

• Avoid chewing on the treated side until numbness wears off.

• Mild sensitivity to temperature or pressure is normal and should subside within a few days.

After Dental Implants

• Avoid disturbing the surgical site for the first few days.

• Use ice packs to manage swelling.

• Rinse with saltwater (no mouthwash) starting 24 hours after the procedure.

After Extractions

• Bite down gently on gauze to control bleeding.

• Do not rinse, spit, or use straws for the first 24 hours.

• Avoid smoking for at least 72 hours to prevent dry socket.

After Teeth Whitening

• Avoid colored beverages like coffee, wine, or soda for at least 24 hours.

• Stick to a “white diet” to maintain your results.

After Veneers or Crowns

• Avoid sticky or hard foods for at least 24–48 hours.

• Sensitivity is normal and should improve as the tissues heal.
